Desi Lounge is a modern Indian restaurant in downtown Vancouver, shaped by regional flavours and the pleasure of sharing a meal. On Hornby Street, our kitchen and bar bring together coastal curries, tandoori cooking and Indian-inspired cocktails.

Our story begins with owner Deepak Khanchi’s journey from India to Canada in 2012. After opening Desi Turka in Burnaby in 2017, he created Desi Indian Lounge as a new expression of the food and hospitality he grew up with.
Today, that spirit lives in a shared table: a familiar favourite, a regional dish to discover, and time to enjoy both. Join us for lunch, settle in for dinner, or make an evening of it with friends.

Deepa Thapa
General Manager
Deepa brings food-and-beverage experience from Marriott hotels in Dubai. She leads the service team with a focus on a thoughtful welcome, attentive service and helping guests feel at ease.
Chef Bal
Executive Chef
Raised in Malvan on India’s western coast, Chef Bal draws inspiration from his mother’s kitchen. His cooking pairs locally available ingredients with Indian spices, bringing regional traditions into a contemporary dining experience.
